Beth Cannon

Vice President, Current Series

As vice president of current series at Sony Pictures Animation, Beth Cannon supports a variety of animated series currently in production at the studio.  She shepherds the series’ creative teams through the transition from development into production and, in partnership with the physical production team, ensures that the creative vision is carried forward throughout the life of the series.

Prior to joining Sony Pictures Animation in 2022, Cannon spent 8 years as a development executive at DreamWorks Animation Television, overseeing the development and sale of animated series for various streaming platforms, such as "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" and "Spirit Riding Free" for Netflix, "The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle" for Amazon, and "The Croods: Family Tree" and "The Mighty Ones" for Hulu.

Born and raised in Virginia, Cannon went on to graduate from Regis College outside of Boston, where she studied Communications and Religious Studies. Cannon later received her Master of Fine Arts in Film from Columbia University, then worked in New York as an assistant to live action director Jonathan Demme. After moving from New York to Los Angeles, Cannon began her animation career working on the feature development team at DreamWorks Animation and at Cartoon Network on both development and current series.
